What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3.00pm and check-out is by 11.00am.
Is there parking on site?
We have ample parking on-site behind our hotel, which is free for hotel guests. We do not have EV charging points in our car park at this time. Click here for directions to our hotel and car park.
Can you store my bags before check-in/after check-out?
Of course, our concierge can store your luggage for you. Please be advised that belongings are left at your own risk.
What’s your policy on dogs in the hotel/restaurant?
We welcome well-behaved dogs on leads in our courtyard garden, bar, and parlour. At this time, dogs are not allowed in our dining room.
We also have dog-friendly rooms available in our hotel. Please get in touch if you are a hotel guest and planning to bring a pet so we can ensure we have a suitable room for you. We charge a small pet supplement to cover the deep clean required in the room in preparation for our next guests.
Is there wheelchair-friendly access?
While we strive to provide a comfortable experience for all our guests, due to the building’s age and architectural constraints, not all areas are fully wheelchair-accessible. We offer ground-floor rooms, and our parlour and restaurant are wheelchair-accessible. However, we don’t currently have a fully wheelchair-accessible toilet – this is something we are seeking to address in ongoing restorations to our 17th century hotel.
We are committed to accommodating the needs of every guest to the best of our ability. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact us before ahead of your visit.
Can you help me with arranging a taxi or private transfer?
Absolutely, our concierge can arrange taxis on your behalf during your stay. We use and recommend Berridge Taxis. For private transfers, we recommend Meadows Executive Cars. You can contact them directly or we can assist in booking this for you.
Are you close to the train station?
Yes, we are a 10-minute walk or a 3-minute taxi ride from Oakham train station. Use Trainline to plan your work trip or mini break to Oakham.
What attractions would you recommend in the local area?
The beautiful county of Rutland has some really special places to explore. Oakham, our lovely market town, has lots of independent shops and cafés and beautiful historic buildings.
