A charming 17th century coaching inn situated in the centre of Oakham previously known as the Whipper-In.
With 20 bedrooms of varying sizes and styles, the inn has been under new ownership since August 2022 and significant restoration has already been completed including several bedrooms and a new 12 seat boutique cinema experience.
There is a further programme of extension and enlargement planned over the next few years which will include a spa, gym and a new dining room.
As each individual stage of the project is completed The George Inn, Oakham will continue to evolve.

LOOKING BACK & LOOKING AHEAD
The George Inn has been a feature of Oakham’s historic market place since the late 16th century.
Although renamed in the 1980s to The Whipper-In, it is the character of The George Inn that has prevailed for over five centuries.
"Being an accustomed inn for carriers, with good stabling for 100 horses and other good conveniences, and some goods very necessary for the said inn to be let and entered on immediately."
